About relocating to Vietnam

Vietnam has become a major destination for digital nomads seeking very low living costs, excellent food, fast internet in cities, and a warm climate. Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Da Nang are the main nomad hubs; Hanoi is the more traditional administrative centre. Vietnam's cost of living is among the lowest in Southeast Asia.

Vietnam does not yet have a dedicated digital nomad visa. Most remote workers use tourist e-visas (valid for 90 days, extendable to 180 days) or business visas. Long-term residency typically requires employment with a registered Vietnamese company or a business investment. The government is developing a digital nomad pathway, but no formal programme exists as of 2025.
